Facebook has released a new version of
its Android app with some photo-centric features. The update brings
ability to delete or edit albums, comment on photos and untag from
photos.
Users can now comment on any post with
an image as well. The update also adds some new options for uploading,
organizing and sharing photos. Multiple images can be uploaded
simultaneously, which is ideal for creating a quick collection. Earlier
users could only create albums with the app, now with the new update,
they can edit and delete albums. The feature has been available for
desktop and iOS users already.
There is also an option for users to
untag themselves from photos. Those who manage groups can also use the
new Facebook for Android app to pin and unpin photos in the group.
According to reports some users have been given access to a flatter UI,
although the new UI hasn't been rolled out to everyone just yet.
Facebook has also announced 15 second auto play video ads
which will start playing videos without sound as they appear on screen
and will stop as soon you scroll past it. Users can tap on the video to
expand it into a full screen. Facebook says it will ensure video ads
that appear on the website “are as good as other content people see in
their News Feeds.” Facebook has also stated that users will be able to
start viewing these new ads “over the next few months”.
